About Us

Welcome! My name is Monica- I am hobby/backyard grower turned small-scale business owner in 2026 to help spread the love of dahlias to others, and to give my extra tubers homes!

My "obsession" with dahlias started in 2019 with just one single dahlia added to one of perennial gardens. Since then, I have acquired more and more varieties every year. I have studied and learned the ins and outs of growing, monitoring, dividing, and storing dahlias.

Now going into my 8th season, I am preparing to plant over 180 different varieties! Needless to say my vegetable garden no longer exists! Typically, I only plant only one to two tubers of each variety, so my available tubers per variety are limited.

Our home is set against a large field which is frequented by countless does and their fawns each day, all summer long. I thoroughly enjoy watching the babies grow up as I tend to my dahlias- so the name Fawn & Flora Garden is very fitting.

I live in southern Maine with my husband and two teenage daughters and my "real day job" is as a Registered Nurse for the last 22 years.

I am not new to selling dahlia tubers (I have been selling locally, smaller-scale for 4 years), but this is the first year I have hit the volume to become  a licensed nursery through the State of Maine. I practice very strict sanitation methods during the cutting, dividing and storing processes. I treat my gardens as needed to control any pest or mildew issues as they arise, and I will always ruthlessly cull any questionable plants to help keep my dahlia stock as healthy as possible!
